Deutsche India Private Limited, Mumbai Branch is hiring a Divisional Risk and Control Mumbai - Remote Booking Supervision

About the Role

Deutsche Bank Group is hiring an Associate for the Divisional Risk and Control team in Mumbai. In this role, you will support the front office in executing the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) framework, with a primary focus on Remote Booking Supervision governance and monitoring trade bookings for EEA clients into DBAG London.

What You'll Do

  • Support Remote supervision governance across IB, CB, CRU, and Treasury.
  • Produce Remote Supervision Packs to facilitate various governance meetings.
  • Co-ordinate and collate management information (MI) by working closely with various teams.
  • Run Data Quality and completeness checks for the provision of MI.
  • Lead discussions to incorporate new metrics requested by Remote supervisors.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Analytics Group and IT teams to automate manually sourced MI.
  • Follow up on open actions ahead of remote supervision meetings.
  • Deliver additional controls where gaps are identified in the existing framework.
  • Own the monthly MI creation and automation ideas, ensuring utmost data accuracy.
  • Perform gap analysis across business divisions and document required capabilities, process, and technology changes.
  • Establish key delivery plans and milestones for control framework roll-out.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Analytics Group, Group Tech, and 2nd Line of Defense teams to design and implement control suites.
  • Identify opportunities to implement preventive control measures.
  • Automate and migrate controls upstream wherever possible.
  • Drive and monitor risk remediation activities of audit findings, self-identified issues, and regulatory commitments.
  • Own running specific 1st Line of Defense controls, including support in pro-active management, development, and review.
  • Monitor trade bookings for EEA clients into DBAG London and highlight transactions booked into the incorrect legal entity.
  • Conduct timely investigation of trade bookings.
  • Pro-actively engage with Business and Middle Office for further investigation.
  • Monitor investigation results and remediation status of wrong bookings.
  • Lead calls with Business Managers.
  • Escalate any overdue activities to the team lead promptly.
  • Support the team lead in creating monthly MI.
  • Create a monthly report to present booking review results to Business, Legal, and Compliance, escalating any potential breaches or overdue investigations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in IB and Middle Office to support the investigation and remediation of trade bookings.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of eight years prior experience in a financial institution.
  • Strong skills in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Self-starter who can work autonomously and proactively within tight timelines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills related to risk management and operational risk.
  • Effective relationship building and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills and ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Project management skills to independently drive strategic automation solutions.
  • A willingness to be flexible to meet changing work priorities and tasks, with an ability to manage a high workload, work independently, and plan your work to meet deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience preferably in a Finance, Operations, or Risk & Control function.
  • Exposure to VBA or programming preferred.
