About the Role

Destination Pet is hiring a District Director of Operations (West) to oversee our network of Pet and Vet Care centers across the Western Region. This remote position requires residence in Colorado and involves 50%-75% travel. You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and team development across multiple locations.

What You'll Do

  • Live and model the mission, vision, culture, and policies of Destination Pet.
  • Ensure all centers provide top quality care and exceptional customer service.
  • Conduct a minimum of monthly center/practice visits.
  • Monitor day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives that drive revenue.
  • Partner with Center Leadership and District Veterinary Directors on staff/doctor scheduling.
  • Partner with Recruiting and District Veterinary Directors on doctor hiring, retention, support, and compensation.
  • Analyze and utilize financial reports and KPIs to celebrate achievements and identify growth opportunities.
  • Analyze and deliver results of operational processes impacting practice success.
  • Ensure completion of district quarterly inventory.
  • Reinforce all Destination Pet’s training, safety, and service programs.
  • Ensure center compliance with federal and local labor laws (DEA, EEOC, ADA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Conduct weekly calls with district leadership to discuss performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Implement a one-on-one cadence for individual growth plans and management development.
  • Partner with management to identify and execute additional revenue driving initiatives.
  • Inspect buildings and properties and recommend/report facility repairs and improvements.
  • Monitor and assist with all safety, emergency, and crisis situations.
  • Resolve all customer and staff complaints not resolved at a center level.
  • Interact with customers, guests, visitors, and team members professionally and courteously.
  • Assume operational oversight, maintaining impeccable facility standards, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  • Cultivate a pervasive culture of safety among team members.
  • Embrace and execute any additional responsibilities as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Must be a pet fanatic.
  • 3+ years of multi-unit management experience in a pet, vet, retail or hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility in scheduling, including availability during evenings and weekends for emergency on-call support.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational acumen.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  • A passionate affinity for animals, with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and familiarity with Excel and Power BI.
  • Proficiency in task prioritization and delegation.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience in problem-solving, sound judgment, maintaining confidentiality, and interacting professionally.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Required travel 50%-75%, including overnight.
  • Must frequently lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to handle frequent sitting, standing and walking.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.

Work Mode

This is a remote position that requires residence in Colorado, USA. It involves 50%-75% travel.
