Capital One is looking for a Director of Software Engineering to lead our Core Banking initiatives and help disrupt the banking industry with digital experiences. You will manage and develop multiple teams of engineers to deliver technology solutions that support business growth.
What You'll Do
- Lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers.
- Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members.
- Collaborate with product managers to define capabilities and testing scenarios.
- Continuously improve software engineering practices within and across Agile teams.
- Oversee the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your technical solutions.
- Stay current with technology trends, experiment with new technologies, and participate in technology communities.
- Promote innovation, the implementation of new technologies, inclusion, teamwork, and diversity.
- Work to improve the velocity of your teams and others.
- Lead efforts to deploy applications into AWS environments.
- Break monolithic applications into microservice architectures and build new microservices.
- Work with senior technology stakeholders to identify the next generation of core banking opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least 7 years of experience in software development.
- At least 5 years of experience in people management.
Nice to Have
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in software development.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile practices.
- Experience with core banking platform and applications.

Benefits & Compensation
- Target compensation for this role is $239,900 - $273,800.
