Huntress is looking for a Director, SEO & AEO to own the strategy and execution that drives measurable business results from organic search. You will establish the operating structure and lead the team tasked with scaling SEO and AEO sustainably, balancing near-term performance with long-term authority building.

What You'll Do

Own day-to-day and long-range SEO/AEO performance management, including forecasting, analysis, and opportunity identification.
Proactively surface risks and emerging opportunities, leading deep-dive investigations into performance shifts.
Connect SEO performance to brand awareness, paid search outcomes, and pipeline influence across channels.
Translate complex performance data into clear executive-ready insights and recommendations.
Own the SEO and AEO strategy across modern search and AI-powered discovery experiences.
Define how content clustering, entity optimization, backlinking, and technical foundations drive authority and conversions.
Partner closely with Content, Brand, Product Marketing, Demand Gen, Web, and Data teams.
Serve as an internal educator and advocate on evolving SERPs, AI search, and organic visibility's value.
Directly manage and develop the existing SEO team, ensuring sustainable scaling.
Establish a scalable operating model including sprint cycles, workflow intake, and prioritization.
Advocate for data, analytics support, tooling, platforms, and technical investments.

What We're Looking For

10+ years of experience in SEO, with progression into senior or director-level leadership.
Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary SEO teams covering technical SEO, content SEO, and strategy.
Deep expertise in modern SEO strategy, AEO, GEO, entity optimization, and AI-driven search trends.
Deep expertise in technical SEO foundations and site architecture.
Strong familiarity with tools including SEOClarity, Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and AI/LLM platforms like Profound.
Exceptional ability to translate complex data into clear business narratives for executives.
Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional partners without direct authority.
Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and organizational design.

Nice to Have

Experience in B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, or complex technical products strongly preferred.
