Decima International is hiring a Director, Project Controls to lead the planning, scheduling, and change management for multiple large-scale Data Center construction projects for a premier technology client. You will be the client's primary point of contact, responsible for managing complex aspects of project controls and ensuring successful delivery.
What You'll Do
- Establish and maintain a strong client relationship, communicating clearly with both technical and management-level personnel.
- Prepare and present detailed presentations on project progress, findings, and recommendations.
- Review project plans, requirements, and specifications to ensure alignment.
- Collaborate with the client and contractors to develop work breakdown structures (WBS), CPM baseline schedules, and integrated master schedules (IMS).
- Load schedules with resource and cost information to enable accurate tracking.
- Perform resource analyses to identify potential bottlenecks and strains across multiple projects.
- Update, maintain, and revise monthly and weekly project schedules and status reports.
- Coordinate and conduct reviews of consultant, contractor, and vendor schedules to ensure they meet client standards and contract specifications.
- Report on monthly schedule comparisons, highlighting changes, delays, or accelerations.
- Develop and implement an earned value management system (EVM) to measure project progress and performance.
- Identify program and project risks and provide actionable recommendations for mitigation.
- Perform what-if and delay analyses as required by project conditions.
- Act as the primary communication link between Decima and clients regarding contracts and progress, effectively handling client demands.
What We're Looking For
- 20+ years of hands-on construction project controls experience.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Proven experience in vertical construction (e.g., Hotels, Hospitals, Mixed-Use Buildings).
- A Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, engineering, project management, or a related technical field.
- An excellent understanding of construction and scheduling best practices.
- High proficiency in Primavera P6, including resource and cost loading, tracking, leveling, and reporting.
- Experience developing various types of reports for different audiences, such as critical path reports and resource histograms.
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing positions.
- Ability to grasp complex technical construction programs and communicate progress effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong overall communication skills, with clarity and accuracy for any audience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Nice to Have
- A Master's degree in Construction Management.
- Specific experience with Data Center construction or other complex vertical construction.
- Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.
- PSP or PMI-SP certification.
- Active membership in professional associations like PMI or AACEi.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
