About the Role
The Director of Product Design will spearhead the design strategy, mentor a team of designers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the design vision and strategy for the product.
- Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and other stakeholders to define, design, and ship new features.
- Create and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions.
- Present and communicate design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in design.
- Manage the design team's workload and priorities.
- Ensure the design team's work aligns with the company's business objectives.
- Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new design team members.
- Facilitate design critiques and workshops to improve the team's skills and processes.
- Work with external partners and vendors on design-related projects.
- Contribute to the development of the company's design culture and community.
- Provide design leadership and expertise to the organization.
- Ensure the design team's work is delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to support product launches and promotions.
- Analyze and report on the performance of design initiatives.
- Identify and address design-related risks and issues.
- Participate in the development of the company's design roadmap.
- Ensure the design team's work is accessible and inclusive.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure design work meets regulatory requirements.
- Provide design support for internal tools and processes.
- Contribute to the development of the company's brand and visual identity.
