Elsevier is hiring a Director of Strategy/Market Planning for Government Digital Identity. This role is accountable for expanding the serviceable available market by building clear growth strategies focused on Identity Verification, Authentication, and Digital Identity solutions. You will act as a government identity subject matter expert, translating expertise into executable plans, identifying new growth areas, and ensuring organizational alignment.
What You'll Do
- Own the vision for the existing digital identity solution segment and product offering.
- Operationalize market vision into clear market, capture, and development plans.
- Simplify complex research into executive-level overviews and sales-ready content.
- Take initiative to explore, identify, and substantiate innovation.
- Set a fact-based growth plan to expand revenue and serviceable available market.
- Maintain acute subject matter expertise of clients, solutions, partners, and competitors.
- Make timely, objective decisions based on a preponderance of evidence.
- Communicate decisions clearly and inspire consensus among organizational leaders and stakeholders.
- Convey executive presence through all communication methods, both internal and external.
- Demonstrate strong identity leadership to internal teams.
- Demonstrate clear market leadership externally to grow your brand, your market’s brand, and the company brand.
- Maintain big-picture thinking while managing smaller-picture execution focus.

What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience with Digital Identity and/or IDV solutions (data, technology, platforms).
- 10+ years of experience in the Digital Identity and/or IDV ecosystem, covering customers, partners, competitors, consultants, contracting, regulation, and laws.
- Understanding of emerging technologies supporting government transformational initiatives.
- Proven record of success in building professional relationships.
- Expert knowledge of business growth techniques.
- Sharp negotiation and networking skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Clear mastery of MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
- Detailed knowledge of Go-to-Market processes and relevant experience taking solutions from ideation to turn-key ready offerings.
- Enthusiasm for conducting research and synthesizing findings into actionable intelligence plans.
- Enthusiasm for the company and its growth potential.
- Up to 25% travel may be required for industry events or internal meetings.
- US Citizenship is required for this particular position.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the U.S. public sector, particularly federal, state, or local civilian programs.
- An MPA or MBA degree.

This role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Transformational Markets.

- U.S. National Base Pay Range: $118,300 - $219,800. Geographic differentials apply.

- Base Pay Range for MD: $124,200 - $230,800

- Base Pay Range for Rochester, NY: $118,300 - $219,800
