About the Role
This role involves leading critical aspects of financial reporting and technical accounting, with a focus on SEC filings, regulatory compliance, and complex accounting standards. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial disclosures.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of all SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
- Serve as primary technical accounting advisor on complex transactions
- Oversee the implementation of new accounting standards and policies
- Collaborate with external auditors on quarterly and annual audits
- Manage internal controls related to financial reporting
- Provide guidance on revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, and business combinations
- Work closely with legal and tax teams on disclosure matters
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
- Mentor and develop junior accounting staff
- Coordinate with finance and operations teams to gather reporting inputs
- Lead special projects related to financial reporting improvements
- Evaluate the accounting implications of new business initiatives
- Ensure consistency in financial statements across reporting periods
- Support internal audit and SOX compliance efforts
- Prepare materials for audit committee meetings
- Monitor regulatory developments from the SEC and FASB
- Assist in investor relations preparation for earnings calls
- Maintain documentation for all technical accounting positions
- Drive process efficiencies in the financial close and reporting cycle
- Ensure accurate and timely footnote disclosures
- Oversee XBRL tagging and EDGAR filing processes
- Act as a point of contact for external auditors on technical issues
- Support due diligence for potential acquisitions
- Ensure alignment between financial reporting and corporate strategy
