The Raspberry Pi Foundation is hiring a Director of Research and Impact to lead our work on research, research into practice, and impact evaluation. You will develop strategies to generate knowledge that maximizes the Foundation's impact and elevates the field of computer science education.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development of the Foundation's strategies for research and impact evaluation.
- Work with the Chief Learning Officer and Director of the Raspberry Pi Computing Education Research Centre to set a shared agenda for academic research.
- Lead the Foundation's approach to evaluating impact across programs and products.
- Translate knowledge from research and impact evaluation into practice across the Foundation and the broader field.
- Guide developmental work in emerging areas such as AI literacy, data science, and future pedagogy.
- Represent the Foundation externally at conferences and in policy and practitioner communities.
- Lead and support a high-performing, cross-functional team.
- Contribute to the strategic direction, culture, and values of the organisation as a member of the Leadership team.
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience leading research and/or impact evaluation in K12 education.
- A relevant post graduate qualification.
- A deep understanding of a broad range of research and evaluation methodologies in education.
- A clear commitment to ethical research practice when working with schools and young people.
- A proven track record of translating research into practice.
- Confident working with stakeholders from different backgrounds.
- An outstanding communicator able to communicate complex ideas effectively to different audiences.
- Experience leading and managing teams, including cross-functional or cross-cultural projects.
- A collaborative, open, and supportive leadership style.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively across teams and geographies.
Nice to Have
- Experience with a focus on computer science or STEM.
- Experience building and managing effective partnerships with academic institutions or research organisations.
Team & Environment
You will be a member of the learning team, leading a highly skilled team and collaborating with digital products and professional development colleagues. You will report to the Chief Learning Officer.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum full-time equivalent, dependent on experience.
- 25 days annual leave initially, growing to 30 days after five years service.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid role. You can be based in our Cambridge, UK office, remotely within the UK, or remotely within Ireland.
