Illumio is hiring a Director of Engineering - Insights

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team responsible for the newly launched SaaS Insights product.
  • Define and execute the product roadmap for the SaaS Insights product.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product growth.
  • Drive the strategy, design, and delivery of AI-powered product capabilities.
  • Leverage agentic workflows and large language models (LLMs) to create intelligent user experiences and automation at scale.
  • Champion the adoption of Agentic AI and LLMs across engineering to increase productivity and accelerate innovation.
  • Enable teams to move faster through AI-assisted development, code generation, testing, and operations.
  • Partner with leaders across engineering, operations, product management, and other functions to make critical decisions.
  • Make decisions on roadmap direction, customer feedback, and integration with the broader Illumio platform.
  • Ensure correctness, scalability, and modularity of architecture and implementation.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and security best practices.
  • Grow and develop a top-tier engineering team.
  • Work closely with senior technical leads and cross-functional leaders.
  • Define, manage, and enforce milestone gates to ensure feature completeness and quality.
  • Balance business priorities with deadlines and deliver on time to enterprise customers.
  • Play a critical role in product planning with senior executives.
  • Set business milestones, define resource requirements, and influence long-term technical and business strategy.

Requirements

  • Experience managing 10+ full-time engineers in a global environment.
  • 10+ years in roles of increasing responsibility and technical leadership.
  • Significant experience building and delivering scalable, cloud-native enterprise SaaS products and services.
  • Proven track record of taking enterprise software products from inception through to successful customer delivery.
  • Strong, hands-on experience with AI/ML system design and production deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, data pipelines, observability, evaluation frameworks, and cost/performance/latency trade-offs in production LLM-powered applications.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and shipping AI-assisted products.
  • Practical, real-world experience using large language models (LLMs) and agentic workflows to deliver customer-facing automation and innovation.
  • Experience with modern public cloud infrastructure (particularly AWS and Azure).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and best practices.
