Lola Blankets is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead our Customer Technology team. You will be responsible for the technical direction, delivery, and people leadership of the systems that power our web and mobile customer experience, including our marketplace, acquisition flows, and core customer-facing integrations.
What You'll Do
- Own the technical strategy and execution for Customer Technology, spanning both backend and frontend engineering.
- Partner with product and design to define the team roadmap, prioritize initiatives, and make clear trade-offs between speed, quality, and long-term platform health.
- Lead and manage a team of senior engineers, providing clear expectations, feedback, and support for consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Set and uphold engineering standards and best practices across architecture, code quality, testing, and operational readiness.
- Ensure customer-facing systems are scalable, reliable, and performant as the business grows.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the company to align technical execution with business goals and timelines.
- Act as an escalation point for delivery, technical, and resourcing challenges, proactively identifying risks and driving resolution.
- Contribute to broader technology planning and organizational discussions as part of the engineering leadership team.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in building customer-facing web or mobile platforms.
- 4+ years of engineering leadership experience managing senior engineers.
- Solid technical breadth across backend and frontend systems, with the ability to guide architecture and technical decisions.
- Proven experience partnering with product and design to define roadmaps and deliver complex initiatives.
- Strong judgment around prioritization, trade-offs, and execution in a fast-moving environment.
- Clear, effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
