Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the organization's DevOps and Platform Engineering strategy, roadmap, and operational framework.
- Create, manage, and expand a diverse team of DevOps Managers, Platform Engineers, and Site Reliability Engineers.
- Establish clear roles, career development paths, performance benchmarks, and succession planning.
- Promote a DevSecOps culture emphasizing automation, reliability, accountability, and ongoing enhancement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for executive escalations related to platform reliability, deployment risks, and operational maturity.
- Guide the architectural direction for multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) using Infrastructure as Code.
- Set enterprise standards for networking, IAM, encryption, key management, configuration baselines, environment consistency, and GitOps workflows.
- Ensure platform designs and automation comply with FedRAMP Moderate/High requirements and NIST 800-53 controls.
- Evaluate and approve new platform tools and cloud services.
- Lead the enterprise CI/CD strategy supporting various product and engineering teams.
- Standardize pipelines with reusable frameworks, integrated security scanning, and compliance validation.
- Enable self-service deployment models that balance speed with governance.
- Define and monitor DORA metrics, deployment success rates, and release reliability KPIs.
- Collaborate with Engineering leadership to enhance developer productivity and release cycles.
- Set organization-wide standards for observability, SRE practices, and reliability engineering.
- Ensure systems are equipped with metrics, logs, and traces aligned with defined SLIs and SLOs.
- Work with NOC and Security teams to enhance detection, alerting, and incident response.
- Lead post-incident reviews and drive improvements through automation and design changes.
- Collaborate with Security and Compliance leadership to integrate compliance-as-code across platforms and pipelines.
- Oversee DevOps and platform responsibilities for continuous monitoring, evidence automation, audit readiness, and secure secrets management.
- Ensure platform documentation, runbooks, and policies meet FedRAMP and 3PAO expectations.
- Serve as a technical leader during audits and compliance reviews.
- Implement FinOps practices across cloud environments, integrating cost controls into automation.
- Ensure consistent tagging, usage tracking, and cost attribution.
- Provide executive-level reporting on cloud spend, optimization opportunities, and ROI.
