About the Role

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Director of Business Development to provide strategic leadership for organizational growth and expanded impact in the health and education sectors. This remote position within the United States will oversee revenue generation, from prospecting and relationship building to grant and proposal development, while serving as a key advisor on strategic partnerships.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage strategic business development initiatives to drive organizational growth and impact.
  • Develop, submit, and manage grant proposals, contracts, and funding opportunities.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, identify prospects, and build long-term relationships with partners and funders.
  • Collaborate with finance, compliance, and project management teams for post-award reporting and funder relationship management.
  • Design and implement systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, outcomes, and revenue generation.
  • Provide conceptual leadership for cross-agency initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, representing the organization professionally.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of business development experience with mid-size to large regional or national non-profits or academic organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in health and education programs, content, and grant/proposal writing.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, local government, and private funding streams.
  • Proven experience in system and process development, technology implementation, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with strong presentation and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and experience with CRM or technology-based platforms.
  • Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver’s license and insurance when required.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $126,000 – $154,900
