Fruitist is hiring a Director, Insurance & Claims to protect our global operations. You will manage end-to-end insurance programs and oversee the full claims lifecycle, requiring strategic expertise in global placement and negotiation. This role is central to our mission of revolutionizing snacking at the intersection of health, sustainability, and innovation.
What You'll Do
- Oversee all aspects of global insurance programs, including Property, General Liability, D&O, Marine Cargo, Workers' Compensation, Parametric Covers, Product liability, Cyber, Public company and Agricultural specialized cover.
- Lead insurance renewals and placements in collaboration with brokers, understanding global Master Controlled Program structure.
- Manage the full claim’s lifecycle, including validation, verification and optimization of process through resolution for both insured and uninsured losses.
- Analyse claims data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for risk reduction, premium savings or enhanced policy wordings.
- Act as primary liaison with brokers, insurers, third parties, and legal counsel on claim negotiations and settlements.
- Support risk assessments to identify insurable exposures and advise business units on risk mitigation and insurance solutions.
- Support with insurance disclosures, board reports, and investor documents.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, HR, Operations, Production, Commercial and IT to ensure insurance coverage aligns with contractual and compliance requirements.
- Maintain documentation for all policies, claims, and insurance certificates to support audits and stakeholder due diligence.
- Investigate alternative risk financing structures, self-insurance, captives, etc.
- Manage staff.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Risk Management, Finance, or Law.
- 8–12+ years’ experience in corporate insurance and claims management, ideally within global or asset-heavy sectors (e.g., agriculture, logistics, food, manufacturing).
- Demonstrated experience managing global programs and working across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience using claims tracking systems, insurance platforms, and Advanced Excel for trend reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple high-value claims while meeting tight deadlines and compliance standards.
- Multilingual – Fluent English, professional Spanish.
Nice to Have
- CPCU, ARM, or AIC certification.
- At least one other European or Asian language proficiency.
