Arch is looking for a Director, Finance to join the Billing Operations Group within our Corporate Finance department. This integral financial reporting role supports the quarterly financial close process and manages balancing and accounting tasks for premium, receivables, cash, and collections, playing a critical part in the company's strategic growth.
What You'll Do
- Produce timely and accurate financial reporting of assigned reconciliations and balancing tasks.
- Prepare various quarterly financial reporting schedules and variance analysis, primarily for balance sheet and supporting schedules.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
- Correspond with Underwriters, Agents, and IT on discrepancies regarding premiums, cash payments, and commissions.
- Work closely with key business partners to facilitate an efficient quarterly close to meet reporting deadlines.
- Prepare manual adjustments for the Quarter Closing process.
- Assist with fulfilling and responding to external audit requests.
- Maintain focus on personal growth by proactively seeking relevant education and training.
What We're Looking For
- B.S. in Accounting or Finance.
- 6+ years of accounting, finance, or financial reporting experience in the Insurance industry.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel with ability to use complex formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMPRODUCT, and what-if scenarios.
- Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory financial statement analysis.
- Ability to improve and evaluate processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Cognos, Power BI, Workday, and Alteryx are a plus.
- Property & Casualty insurance industry experience preferred.
