Sephora is seeking a Director, Engineering to lead the stability, scalability, and operational excellence of our SAP S/4HANA enterprise platform. You will ensure our ERP systems reliably support stores, distribution centers, e-commerce, finance, and supply chain operations, managing a team of engineers and technical leaders focused on building resilient, high-performing technology infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end SAP S/4HANA platform architecture, including HANA database, SAP Basis, operating systems, and cloud/on-prem infrastructure across production, QA, sandbox, and disaster recovery landscapes.
- Ensure ERP uptime, SLAs, and system performance during critical business periods including month-end, quarter-end, and peak retail operations through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Lead infrastructure and operations readiness for SAP cutover, go-live, and hypercare, including mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, final go-live execution, and war room leadership during critical events.
- Provide leadership oversight for L2/L3 application support for SAP S/4HANA modules and establish end-to-end incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Drive infrastructure and platform decisions aligned with SAP best practices, defining standards for high availability, scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
- Ensure reliable infrastructure and connectivity for ERP integrations across POS, WMS, TMS, e-commerce, and third-party systems in partnership with network and security teams.
- Lead the transition from system integrator-led support to steady-state operations, including knowledge transfer and team readiness for ongoing platform management.
What We're Looking For
- 12+ years of experience in ERP infrastructure or SAP S/4HANA platform operations with deep hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA infrastructure and SAP Basis.
- Proven track record leading ERP cutovers, enterprise go-lives, and hypercare in large, mission-critical environments.
- 7+ years of people leadership experience at Director level or above, managing managers, full-time employees, contractors, vendors, and system integrators.
- Strong background in incident, problem, and change management with focus on root-cause elimination and continuous improvement.
- Experience operating ERP platforms in 24x7 business environments, including retail, supply chain, or finance-critical operations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with executive leadership during high-pressure situations.
- Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering or related field required.
