Gartner, Inc. is hiring a Director Analyst to join our Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group. In this role, you will serve as a thought leader in Research and Development portfolio strategy, AI and digital transformation, and R&D technology market coverage. You will create pragmatic insights and advise senior leaders on trends and best practices to propel their business objectives.
What You'll Do
- Create innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged 'must-have insights' content.
- Develop new insights and actionable approaches to client needs through thought leadership.
- Conduct in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client barriers and reframe strategic thinking.
- Establish thought leadership positions across a team of analysts.
- Provide independent, provocative insights that can evolve the research agenda.
- Research, analyze, and predict market trends to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights.
- Advise clients via virtual or face-to-face interactions aligned to your content area.
- Create and deliver high-value presentations for Gartner events and client briefings.
- Support sales and BTI by acting as the voice of the market to drive client engagement.
- Provide high-quality and timely content peer review.
- Build credibility as an industry expert representing Gartner's insights and methodology.
- Actively participate in innovation and research discussions, collaborating with peers.
- Identify or develop research process improvements for excellent service delivery.
- Mentor and coach more junior team members.
- Maintain a client-centric focus, encouraging regular engagement with Gartner insights.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of relevant field or industry experience.
- Direct experience leading R&D teams that produce physical products in manufacturing-intensive industries (e.g., industrial manufacturing, aerospace & defense, automotive).
- Knowledge of R&D project investment decisions, including resource allocation and discontinuation.
- Knowledge of using advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and other technologies to advance R&D.
- Knowledge of how R&D leaders identify, evaluate, and select digital tools and systems.
- Executive presence and the ability to establish immediate credibility with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to produce high-quality deliverables under tight deadlines.
- Excellence in research and writing.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and presentation skills to engage clients effectively.
- Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data to draw and defend conclusions.
- Ability to explain complex concepts concisely.
- Subject matter expertise and comfort presenting at large and small-scale events.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within your subject area.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a multicultural, global team.
- Learning agility and adeptness in navigating matrixed environments.
- Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% where applicable.
