The Charter School Growth Fund is hiring a Director for our Structured Finance (SFin) Team. This role is central to our mission of removing finance, facilities, and governance as barriers to growth for high-quality charter school networks. As a Director, you will act as a blend of a strategy consultant and an impact investor, conducting due diligence, structuring deals, and managing capital investments while implementing our Fund IV strategy.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end due diligence, investment hypothesis development, and underwriting for high-performing charter school operators (grants and loans).
- Evaluate financial performance, multi-year financial models, key risks and mitigants, governance, and facilities strategies.
- Prepare and present investment proposals and evaluation reports to CSGF Partners and the Board of Directors to secure funding.
- Own ongoing loan monitoring, analyzing board materials, audits, and covenant compliance, and proactively engaging to address risk.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support operators through technical assistance and by sharing financial, governance, and facilities best practices.
- Contribute to strategic planning, internal operations, and fund-level work, including portfolio tracking, cash flow management, and investor reporting.
- Build and apply sector knowledge by engaging in team check-ins, state strategies, and ecosystem investments to inform grantmaking and lending.

- A Bachelor’s degree and five to eight years of work experience in investment banking, finance, private equity, venture capital, impact investing, management consulting, or a similar field.
