Leica Biosystems is hiring a Digital Pathology Application Consultant (w/m/d)

About the Role

As a Digital Pathology Application Consultant, you will play a key role in shaping how medical laboratories adopt advanced digital solutions. You'll work hand-in-hand with sales teams to identify customer needs, analyze current workflows, and design tailored systems that integrate seamlessly into clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery sessions and workflow assessments to map current and future-state operations, supporting sales teams in advancing complex projects.
  • Evaluate existing IT infrastructures in labs and hospitals, recommending technical upgrades and transition strategies to support new digital pathology systems.
  • Engage with IT and clinical stakeholders on topics including PACS, DICOM, LIS integration, data security, barcoding, and interoperability between Leica and third-party platforms.
  • Communicate technical aspects of solutions clearly to non-technical audiences, ensuring alignment across departments and decision-makers.
  • Deliver compelling demonstrations of software, hardware, and workflow integrations during early sales stages to build confidence and engagement.
  • Present the value of proposed solutions, address technical concerns, and secure buy-in from key customer representatives.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and workshops as a technical expert and presenter.
  • Travel as required to support customer engagements, project planning, and on-site collaboration.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a degree or professional background in IT, biomedical science, pathology, histology, or imaging. Fluency in German and strong English skills are essential. A valid driving license is required. Familiarity with Mirth and HL7 integration, as well as experience with LIS, PACS, and diagnostic imaging systems, is highly valued.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote role with regular business travel. You’ll be part of a global team focused on advancing diagnostic technologies, contributing to solutions that improve patient outcomes. The environment supports continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation across a diverse network of experts.
