Trane Technologies is seeking a Diagnostics Software Engineer passionate about working on the leading edge of technology to advance state-of-the-art solutions for the HVAC industry. You will work with large data sets to develop automated diagnostics, playing a key role in creating the next generation of intelligent HVAC technology.
What You'll Do
- Provide software engineering expertise to a multidisciplinary team with HVAC and data science backgrounds.
- Develop algorithms to detect issues in residential HVAC systems using sensor and performance data.
- Support and enhance infrastructure for analyzing large IoT data sets.
- Adapt existing algorithms to evolving software architectures and platforms.
- Validate algorithm performance through automation, testing frameworks, and extensive data analysis.
- Collaborate with local and remote software teams to develop, integrate, and deploy algorithms.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and support knowledge-sharing across the team.
- Interface with customers, technicians, dealers, and homeowners as needed to support product development and issue resolution.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven background in real-world software design and implementation.
- Minimum of 4 years of software development experience.
- Experience with databases, SQL, and big-data technologies.
- Strong knowledge of software design principles and development best practices.
- Experience integrating software into real-world applications and systems.
- Ability to visualize data and perform engineering-oriented data analysis.
- Knowledge of database design and SQL.

- Compensation range: $88,000-$137,000.
