At Comcast, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer – Kubernetes & Automation to join our Network Operations Monitoring and Diagnostics (NOMAD) department. This Engineer 2 role focuses on building and automating the next-generation access and core networks for our HSD, Voice, and Video services through containerized, microservice-based, cloud-deployed platforms.

What You'll Do

Design, build, deploy, and maintain clusters using Kubernetes.
Implement new APIs, backend services, front-end UI components, and automation tasks to specification with assistance from senior team members.
Work with the engineering team to develop backend applications for cloud platforms.
Design and develop web applications that function during backend service and internet connectivity interruptions.
Develop security features and embrace a DevSecOps culture.
Use tools to identify and mitigate production incidents within defined MTTR.
Create re-usable web components for multiple teams.
Create self-contained microservices or APIs to support business logic.
Use content management systems, global design patterns, and defined coding standards.
Work closely with architects and DevOps Engineers to implement functional and technical requirements.
Create dashboards to track business and operational metrics.
Understand platform usage and assist with production deployments and customer issue triage.

What We're Looking For

Proficiency in Python or Go for scripting and automation.
Experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in production environments.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, plus basic Bash and shell scripting.
Ability to take ownership of technical stories from design through deployment with minimal oversight.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience.
