Developmental Services of Dickson County is hiring a Developmental Therapist/Early Interventionist to coordinate comprehensive developmental therapy for children with developmental delays or diagnosed disabilities, following Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities guidelines. This home and community-based role is based in Cheatham County.
What You'll Do
- Conduct developmental screenings and comprehensive developmental evaluations.
- Perform hearing and vision screenings.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans.
- Provide child and family intervention in the home, local childcares, and other early childhood programs.
- Coordinate family support services.
- Assist with transition services to the next agency when children are three years of age.
What We're Looking For
- A baccalaureate, masters, or doctorate degree in early childhood special education, early childhood education, child and family studies (child development), early intervention, deaf education or visual disabilities, special education K-12, elementary education, communication disorders, speech language pathology, or a related field such as social work, nursing, psychology, education administration, or sociology.
- Experience in working with young children.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and manage a schedule.
- Ability to relate to and work with other staff, children, family members, and other community agencies and professionals.
- Access to a personal vehicle for daily travel between appointments.
- An approved Motor Vehicle Report prior to hire.
