ClickHouse is hiring a Developer Relations Advocate to represent our technology and connect with developer communities globally. You will be instrumental in creating communication channels, driving engagement, and increasing awareness of ClickHouse. As one of the first members of this team, you will have significant ownership and influence in shaping this function.
What You'll Do
- Partner closely with regional sales and marketing teams to advance community objectives.
- Present technical talks, demos, webinars, and training sessions for both technical and non-technical audiences, both online and in-person.
- Assist in coordinating conferences, meet-ups, and other community events.
- Proactively engage with affiliate communities as a speaker and event coordinator.
- Create high-quality technical content such as blog posts, videos, and podcasts aimed at engineers and technical end users.
- Write code and develop sample projects for demonstration and educational purposes.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to create product-focused social media and newsletter content.
- Help develop measurements and report on the impact of developer relations activities against company goals.
- Support engineers in online communities like Discord, Slack, Twitter, and GitHub Discussions.
What We're Looking For
- A technical background and deep familiarity with the data domain as a developer, infrastructure engineer, data engineer, or data analyst.
- Experience teaching engineers through blogs, videos, conference talks, or training sessions.
- Enthusiasm for organizing and hosting events to foster community growth.
- Readiness to be a frequent public speaker on technical topics.
- Skill in communicating complex technical topics clearly to audiences of varied backgrounds.
- Deep empathy for developers learning new technologies.
- Initiative and comfort providing constructive feedback.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
Nice to Have
- Experience and understanding of databases, data warehouses, and distributed systems.
- Practical experience with open source technologies and a history of contributions to open source communities.
- Formal experience in developer advocacy, evangelism, or marketing.
