Guide engineering design projects from initial concept through to execution. Lead and develop a team of electrical designers through training and mentorship. Define design objectives and technical specifications in alignment with project goals. Ensure all electrical design outputs meet quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance standards. Develop, document, and implement standardized CAD practices and methodologies. Lead design reviews and coordinate CAD setup for projects. Manage allocation of design resources in collaboration with engineering leadership. Assess the skills of design personnel before project deployment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to establish procedural interfaces. Work with software vendors to troubleshoot technical and application challenges. Oversee project timelines and budgets specific to design execution. Train engineering staff on CAD software features and functionalities. Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. Perform additional duties as needed to support successful project delivery
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with nine years of relevant engineering design experience, including leadership of design teams, process development, and project execution
- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific or engineering field with five years of engineering design experience, including leadership of design professionals, process development, and execution
Nice to Have
- Associate degree in Drafting and Design or a closely related field
- Proven experience leading transitions to new design or CAD software platforms
- Demonstrated track record in creating, documenting, and enforcing CAD standards
- High level of proficiency with industry-standard CAD tools
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management abilities
- Proven success in managing complex design projects and delivering on schedule
- Working knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulations such as ISO, ANSI, and ASME
- Understanding of efficient plant and facility layout principles
