Universal Products & Experiences is seeking a Designer, Lifestyle to support the design, product development, and approval of products across the Fashion, Home, Food, Beauty and Care categories for the ANZ, Southeast Asia and India markets. This role plays a key part in delivering creative, high-quality and brand-aligned products while ensuring efficiency across the product approvals process.
What You'll Do
- Manage assigned categories through the product development lifecycle, from concept to production, including CAD review, sampling, packaging, and final production, while adhering to development timelines.
- Deliver accurate design input and creative direction aligned with property guidelines and priorities to external partners, including licensees, retailers and agents.
- Apply strong working knowledge of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes within assigned categories.
- Create trend boards, product and packaging mockups, graphics, and presentation materials to support development and line reviews.
- Monitor trends, innovations, and consumer insights to inform new product ideas.
- Participate in key design and development meetings and provide clear follow-up actions.
- Support development of new product ideas and translate concepts into market-ready lines.
- Support development of style guides and creative assets to ensure brand strength & alignment to business strategies.
- Ensure brand consistency while driving creative innovation in product development.
- Contribute to identifying growth opportunities within assigned categories.
- Conceptualize designs that support business strategies and franchise priorities.
- Balance creativity with commercial viability, cost targets, and retail execution needs.
- Maintain awareness of competitive landscape and consumer target to inform design decisions.
- Build clear and professional design presentations for meetings.
- Understand the licensed entertainment and consumer products landscape.
- Ensure accurate and consistent application of characters, storytelling, and creative assets across all submissions.
- Deliver show-to-shelf results aligned with brand and franchise objectives.
- Serve as the day-to-day design and PD contact for assigned categories with external partners including licensees, retailers, agents, and third-party approvers.
- Communicate clearly and consistently across internal teams and external partners, managing projects across multiple time zones.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with all internal and external partners.
- Partner cross-functionally with Category, Franchise, Legal, and Retail teams to support alignment throughout development.
What We're Looking For
- Proven background in licensing, manufacturing, or consumer product design.
- Strong understanding of design, product development and manufacturing processes for Fashion, Home, Food, Beauty and Care categories.
- Experience with licensed entertainment products.
- Excellent design and creative development skills.
- Proactive and results-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and working knowledge of InDesign, Keynote, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced, multi-market environment.
- Confident in advocating for design decisions and collaborating toward shared goals.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion/Product design, Graphic Design, Illustration, and or related field.
