The role focuses on utilizing AI across multiple data modalities to accelerate research pace. The ideal candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive translational science advancements, demonstrating critical thinking and independent work capabilities. Strong preference for candidates with expertise in data pipeline development, large language model architectures, agent systems, and computer vision, with a preferred background in biology and/or medicine. Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and optimize LLMs and computer vision algorithms for biomedical text and image data processing - Design software tools and pipelines for automated image analysis, data integration, and visualization using machine learning techniques - Collaborate with researchers to translate scientific needs into technical solutions with state-of-the-art AI methodologies - Perform data mining, statistical analysis, and machine learning on large-scale biomedical imaging datasets - Validate and benchmark AI-driven imaging algorithms for accuracy, robustness, and scalability - Document software development processes and create user manuals - Stay current with AI, computer vision, biomedical imaging, and data science advancements - Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to scientific publications - Identify and implement innovative AI technologies for biomedical imaging - Demonstrate knowledge of code packaging, containerization, and continuous integration - DevOps experience with Kubernetes is advantageous Qualifications: - Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related field - Proven experience in biomedical imaging analysis, AI, and computer vision - Strong programming skills in Python, C++ and Rust - Proficiency in AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, PydanticAI - Experience with image analysis software such as ImageJ, CellProfiler, OpenCV - Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization - Familiarity with high-performance computing environments - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills - Experience developing AI-driven biomedical research tools - Proficiency in version control and workflow automation - Collaborative interdisciplinary research background Disclaimer: Job description illustrates work nature and effort levels.
