Responsibilities
- Develop accurate 3D models of data center layouts and mechanical systems
- Collaborate with design teams to integrate structural and electrical components
- Ensure models comply with engineering standards and safety regulations
- Support facility planning using digital simulations and spatial analysis
- Produce construction-ready drawings from 3D designs
- Maintain model accuracy through iterative design updates
- Coordinate with architects and engineers during project development
- Optimize rack placement and cable routing in virtual environments
- Conduct clash detection to resolve design conflicts early
- Document modeling assumptions and design decisions
- Assist in thermal and airflow analysis using modeled environments
- Translate conceptual designs into detailed digital prototypes
- Integrate as-built changes into existing 3D models
- Support project reviews with visualizations and walkthroughs
- Use version control for model management across project phases
- Ensure naming conventions and layer standards are followed
- Participate in design validation testing using simulation tools
- Improve modeling efficiency through template development
- Provide input on equipment clearances and access requirements
- Assist in generating bills of materials from 3D assemblies
- Support commissioning teams with model-based reference data
- Maintain consistency between 2D drawings and 3D models
- Work with vendors to validate equipment models
