About the Role

AIB Personal Banking is looking for a Data Analyst to join our Technology & Data Team. Our purpose is to back our customers to achieve their dreams and ambitions, and we want you to contribute your skills to that mission. You’ll play a key role in extracting complex financial data to deliver insights that support regulatory compliance and strategic decision-making across AIB.

What You'll Do

  • Utilize advanced data transformation skills to deliver datasets that identify trends, insights, and opportunities to drive customer improvements.
  • Manage and prioritize various ad-hoc or strategic data initiatives.
  • Use Data Extraction tools from the AIB Data Warehouse to analyze and report data that meets business requirements.
  • Monitor and report on key customer and regulatory metrics, ensuring data integrity and alignment with FCA and PRA regulation.
  • Support the translation of data into actionable insights and communicate key findings to senior management and committees.
  • Collaborate with UK Customer Experience teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity, including validating data sources, cleansing datasets, and applying robust quality checks.
  • Submit and manage data requests via the enterprise data warehouse, ensuring timely access to accurate and relevant datasets.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, including agile frameworks.
  • Maintain Jira boards to support project management.
  • Collaborate with the data engineering team to plan, prioritize, and facilitate the automation process.
  • Support with business acceptance testing and user acceptance testing during automation phases.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven technical experience in data extraction and reporting, preferably in the financial services sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex datasets clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong proficiency with data tools such as SQL (mandatory) and Excel (mandatory).
  • Proficiency with agile tools like Jira and JQLs.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure, meeting tight timescales while ensuring quality and accuracy.

Nice to Have

  • Strong proficiency with data tools such as Power BI or Qlikview.
