Roadsurfer is hiring a Damage Control Manager - (Remote to CA, WA, NV, AZ, UT, FL)

About the Role

Join roadsurfer as a Damage Control Manager overseeing vehicle fleet maintenance and repair across our North American stations. In this remote role, you will directly impact fleet health, costs, and availability by managing damage reports and repair coordination. We need a highly organized and proactive manager to ensure our vehicles are road-ready for our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee fleet repair, maintenance, vehicle availability, and costs within your assigned stations/region.
  • Evaluate fleet vehicle damage reports to estimate, catalog, assign, and oversee all repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all damage incidents, repairs, and associated costs.
  • Analyze issues affecting fleet health and availability to develop and implement solutions.
  • Use damage estimation software to calculate internal repair costs and create billable invoices for customers.
  • Issue customer damage invoices and respond to complaints by citing insurance policies and rental terms.
  • Handle all aspects of automotive insurance claims with agents, brokers, adjusters, and repair shops.
  • Review repair estimates, negotiate costs, and approve invoices from repair providers.
  • Conduct weekly online meetings with station staff and technicians to advise on repair schedules and budgets.
  • Provide Maintenance & Repair specific training in coordination with the Training and Learning team.
  • Ensure compliance with damage record-keeping and cost-approval procedures.
  • Document and investigate damage incidents, discussing preventive measures with the M&R Team.
  • Personally support repair teams in coordinating repairs or service work when necessary.
  • Abide by and enforce all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Support the Regional Technician in administrative tasks and repair management as directed.
  • Respond rapidly to internal tickets for Breakdown/Accident Assistance.
  • Coordinate vehicle recovery for abandoned vehicles after CST handoff.
  • Review and approve urgent repair estimates from stations and customer service while maintaining strict approval records.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma & Bachelor's Degree or higher required.
  • 2+ years of work experience in Fleet, RV, or Automotive repair.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Adaptable interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to use database/spreadsheet software such as Airtable and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English to interact with a global customer base.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring future sponsorship.
  • Ability to drive company vehicles; must be at least 21 years of age for insurance requirements.
  • Must present and maintain a clear motor vehicle record and pass a background check.
  • Open availability to work weekends and holidays based on business needs.
  • Must reside within commuting distance to a station in CA (San Francisco or Los Angeles), WA (Seattle), NV (Las Vegas), AZ (Phoenix), UT (Salt Lake City), or FL (Miami).

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge or certification in insurance processes and claims management.
  • Knowledge or certifications in RV Repair, RV Body repair, and Automotive Repair.

You will work closely with station staff, technicians, M&R Leads, Regional Technicians, and various external partners to ensure fleet operations run smoothly.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $62,000 to $75,000 annually, based on experience and location.

Work Mode

This is a remote position but you must be located in one of the listed states: California, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, or Florida.
