APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is looking for a Customer Service Representative and Shipper to provide essential administrative support for our Ready Mix delivery operations. You will be a key member ensuring efficient order processing, clear customer communication, and accurate record keeping.
What You'll Do
- Answer phones promptly and handle customer requests with a detailed, professional, and accommodating demeanor.
- Act as a consultative support for customers on current and future orders, promoting value-added products.
- Negotiate delivery times, problem-solve issues, and foster lasting business relationships.
- Function effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment with flexibility for longer hours or weekends as needed.
- Process, coordinate, and communicate phone sales and concrete distribution with multiple plants, drivers, and other representatives.
- Take orders during high call volume periods.
- Interface directly with customers, managers, vendors, and agencies via phone, email, or in person.
- Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle product and service inquiries.
- Be aware of special jobsite conditions requiring attention to spacing, slump, or other circumstances.
- Provide pricing and delivery information to customers.
- Organize workflow to meet customer timeframes and respond promptly to inquiries.
- Build rapport and establish good working business relationships.
- Enter orders into the concrete dispatch system and schedule trucks and drivers using dispatch software.
- Maintain knowledge of market logistics and review incoming orders for accuracy prior to delivery.
- Interact with internal and external customers to determine needs and assist with orders.
- Record and enter driver start times into the scheduling system.
- Ensure the company and drivers adhere to Federal and TDOT transportation guidelines.
- Make every effort to accommodate customer requests or needs and take ownership of managing and resolving customer issues.
- As issues arise, take appropriate action and communicate with managers, supervisors, sales, and customers.
What We're Looking For
- Compliance with all company safety standards and policies.
- Proficiency in Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have
- A high school education or GED.
- A strong customer service background.
- A demonstrated teamwork ethic and the ability to work and communicate well with other departments.
