Responsibilities
- Consistently represent the company with integrity and professionalism.
- Lead or assist with operations such as hiking, inflatable boat tours, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, coach tours, and cultural, culinary, or historical tours as per the itinerary.
- Provide relevant and engaging interpretation to guests both in the field and on board throughout the voyage.
- Participate in evening recaps to highlight guests' daily experiences.
- Prepare several PowerPoint or similar presentations of 30 to 40 minutes each, focusing on themes relevant to the voyage.
- Respond promptly to requests on board and in the field, maintaining high visibility to guests throughout the voyage.
- Address guest concerns and complaints as effectively as possible, escalating to the Expedition Leader or Assistant Expedition Leader when necessary.
- On culturally focused itineraries, accompany guests ashore with local guides and act as the company representative.
- Monitor the quality of shore excursions and report any issues to the Expedition Leader or Assistant Expedition Leader.
- Eat meals with guests, making an effort to dine with a variety of people over each voyage.
- Participate in on-board duties related to guest experience, including monitoring wildlife, cleaning field staff gear and spaces, delivering communications, creating educational materials, assisting with photo collection, supporting inventory and organization, capturing daily expedition photos, assisting with luggage, and supporting hospitality suites or other off-ship venues.
- Engage in physically demanding activities in diverse weather conditions, including operating inflatable boats for several hours, hiking over uneven terrain for three miles or more, managing snorkel activities in deep water, and leading kayak excursions.
- Read, write, and comprehend policies, legal guidelines, correspondence, and memos in English, and communicate effectively both in writing and orally with a professional demeanor.
- Provide guest briefings on operations and locations with cultural sensitivity to ensure respectful visitor behavior ashore.
