Great American Insurance Group is hiring a Crop Claims Adjuster to join our Crop Division in Southeast/South-central North Dakota. You will manage an inventory of crop-related claims, conducting investigations and determining settlements. This role is fully remote within the defined territory with travel required.
What You'll Do
- Manage an inventory of crop-related claims to evaluate compensability and liability.
- Conduct claim investigations, including crop field work, to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability, and damages.
- Determine and potentially negotiate appropriate claim settlements and reserves within prescribed authority.
- Convey routine to moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and partners.
- Authorize payments within assigned authority limits and ensure timely processing.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files with all correspondence, reports, and agreements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Crop Management, Ag Business, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Generally, a minimum of 6 months experience in general agriculture, ag business/sales, agronomy, and/or grain merchandising.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including continuous walking/standing, frequent lifting of objects up to 50 lbs, and climbing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
- Ability to conduct visual inspections and work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Requires regular and predictable attendance and frequent travel.
- May require the ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Work Mode
This is a fully remote position based within the Southeast/South-central North Dakota territory, with travel up to 40%.
