This permanent position seeks a skilled Credit Rating Specialist to play a central role in assessing and overseeing the credit quality of illiquid, unrated assets within the Matching Adjustment portfolio. You will deliver thorough Credit Quality Assessments and conduct ongoing monitoring to ensure accurate risk evaluation across private and non-traded assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed Credit Quality Assessments for private and illiquid fixed income holdings.
- Perform regular credit reviews and maintain up-to-date risk profiles for un-rated instruments.
- Support the development and calibration of internal stress testing models specific to private asset exposures.
- Design and implement credit rating methodologies for emerging asset classes.
- Engage in regulatory discussions and help prepare submissions to the Prudential Regulation Authority on new illiquid investments.
- Work closely with Investment Office and Group Actuarial teams to share insights and enhance risk understanding.
Skills and Experience
You bring deep knowledge of credit rating practices in private fixed income markets and a solid grasp of the unique risks in this space. You communicate clearly and confidently, capable of influencing senior internal stakeholders and external regulators. You are adept at managing concurrent priorities and thrive in collaborative environments where constructive challenge strengthens outcomes.
Work Environment
This hybrid role offers flexibility, with approximately half of your time based at one of several UK offices—London, Alderley Park, or Edinburgh—and the remainder from home. You’ll operate within a culture built on trust, accountability, teamwork, and results.
