Operating with autonomy within established guidelines, you will handle both formal applications and informal quotes, often involving substantial policy values.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and finalize complex life insurance applications, exercising independent judgment within a $5,000,000 approval threshold.
- Interpret medical records, financial statements, and risk data to form comprehensive underwriting assessments in alignment with company policy.
- Collaborate effectively with sales teams and external partners, providing clear rationale for decisions and supporting customer-focused outcomes.
- Identify process inefficiencies and contribute to improvements by considering cross-functional impacts of underwriting decisions.
- Mentor colleagues and deliver training on underwriting principles to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain a high-volume caseload with precision, organization, and consistent follow-through.
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least five years of experience in life insurance underwriting, with a proven track record handling high-face-amount policies. Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment and decision-making is essential. Preferred candidates will have progress toward or hold FLMI, FALU, or CLU designations, or relevant experience in a brokerage distribution environment.
Compensation & Benefits
This remote position offers a base salary between $108,000 and $118,000, depending on location, with eligibility for a discretionary bonus under the company’s incentive plan.
