Ryerson is hiring a Service Center Operator B (Crane Operator) to manage the day-to-day staging, packing, and picking of material for shipments. In this role, you will use proper equipment to process orders and ensure timely fulfillment.
What You'll Do
- Pick and stage feedstock for fulfillment orders.
- Break down bulk bundles for customer-specific orders.
- Package material to meet customer requirements.
- Operate a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed.
- Properly complete paperwork and confirm SAP work orders for shipping and receiving on the computer.
- Maintain maximum productivity for finished goods creation.
- Perform all other duties as assigned, noting duties and responsibilities may change at any time.
What We're Looking For
- Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspection & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Regular attendance.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer.
- Physical ability to pass a physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility.
- Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of onboarding and new hire training.

- A minimum of 2 years of similar job experience.
