About the Role

Twilio is looking for a Counsel, Commercial to enable its growing legal team in supporting the Go-to-Market Sales organization. In this role, you will partner with the enterprise sales team to manage the full life-cycle negotiation of complex enterprise sales deals and help shape the future of communications.

What You'll Do

  • Take ownership of the review, negotiation, drafting and management of a wide range of legal agreements.
  • Advise Twilio’s internal clients on contract interpretation and negotiation.
  • Champion Twilio’s mission, ethics and integrity by ensuring compliance policies are in practice and protect the company from risk.
  • Seek to understand the context of customers and internal clients to solve problems from their perspectives.
  • Evaluate which matters and issues are most worthy or in need of your attention at any given time.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong academic credentials and demonstrated record of success as a lawyer.
  • Member of local bar or eligible to register as Registered In-House Counsel.
  • 5+ years of commercial transactions experience with at least 3 years of negotiating complex technology transactions (e.g., SaaS).
  • Experience supporting a large sales organization.
  • Ability to structure, draft and negotiate a high volume and broad range of commercial contracts, including Master Services Agreements, Professional Services Agreements, and Non-Disclosure Agreements.
  • Proven ability to provide entrepreneurial, quick-thinking, pragmatic, business-oriented advice that balances legal risk and business reward.
  • Ability to take complex legal concepts and explain them to non-lawyers.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate while maintaining a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to triage a heavy workflow, setting appropriate expectations and delivering results efficiently.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the commercial legal team supporting the Go-to-Market Sales team.

  • This role offers a base salary of $120,640 - $150,800.
