The Facilities Management department at the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is looking for a Cost Analyst. You will apply your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze project trends and support accurate cost forecasting. Your collaboration with capital project managers, consultants, and cross-functional teams will ensure smooth financial control and reporting.
What You'll Do
- Analyze, coordinate, and process Design Change Requests (DCRs) and cost/schedule trends to maintain accurate project status reports.
- Compile, reconcile, and maintain cost data to verify and document actions related to project trends.
- Provide technical assistance reviewing and reconciling contractor and consultant pay applications.
- Identify discrepancies for project managers and ensure compliance with insurance, payroll, and safety requirements.
- Analyze and distribute cost reports and spreadsheets, ensuring accurate cost allocations.
- Process invoices tied to a multimillion-dollar capital budget, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
- Oversee financial control of on-call consultant agreements by managing task-level notices and generating monthly reports.
- Assist in cost planning, forecasting, and financial reporting using project management software.
- Support the Senior Cost Analyst in preparing cash flow analyses and forecasting project savings or overruns.
- Contribute to performance reporting using earned value metrics, “S” curves, and other tracking methods.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of maintenance software and hardware.
- Provide training to staff, consultants, and contractors, creating instructional materials and leading sessions.
- Perform moderately complex tasks related to departmental budget preparation and management.
- Assist with developing financial projections, preparing expenditure analyses, and generating budget monitoring reports.
- Draft budget documents and adjustment requests, and contribute to special projects.
What We're Looking For
- Three years of increasingly responsible cost analyst experience, specifically in large-scale construction or maintenance projects.
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in accounting, finance, business administration, construction management, engineering, or a closely related field.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background investigation, training, and testing required for employment and operation of Authority and San Diego County physical security, surveillance, radio and telecommunications equipment.
Nice to Have
- Certified Cost Engineer, Certified Cost Consultant, or Certified Public Accountant certification.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid position. Your primary work location will be the Facilities Management Department (FMD) Administration Building, located on the north end of the San Diego International Airport campus.
