NeoGenomics is hiring a Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. This role advises internal clients on a broad spectrum of legal matters, manages our legal function, oversees outside counsel, and leads the contracting process for customer, vendor, and other critical agreements. You'll leverage your expertise in corporate contracting, employment law, and health law to support our purpose-driven mission to improve patient care and become the world's leading cancer reference laboratory.
What You'll Do
- Participate in developing corporate legal policies and procedures, providing continuing counsel on legal matters and their implications.
- Provide general legal support to the human resources team on employment law matters, including hiring, performance management, termination, and related litigation.
- Analyze, review, and negotiate customer agreements, vendor agreements, and other critical contracts to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Review and advise on commercial Pharma Division agreements and arrangements.
- Assist the Assistant General Counsel in managing the company’s internal legal function, staff, and outside counsel.
- Assist the Assistant General Counsel in advising on the legal aspects of company financing, business structures, and legal entities.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school with current admission to a state bar.
- 6 or more years of experience as a practicing lawyer.
- Exposure to or familiarity with litigation, commercial contracting, corporate transactions, and health care laws and regulations.
- Proven legal experience in a law firm environment and excellent research, analytical, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated exceptional academic achievement along with strong writing and analytical skills.
- High motivation, a strong work ethic, and a high degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Sound judgment, analytical skills, and the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods and lift up to 15 pounds.
Nice to Have
- Certification in health care compliance.
- Litigation and corporate law experience in a law firm setting before moving in-house.
- Experience representing health care clients.
