HackerRank is hiring a Corporate Counsel based in Bangalore, India, reporting to the General Counsel in the United States. You will play a key role in negotiating customer and vendor contracts, advise on compliance and risk matters, and serve as the principal legal advisor within India for our high-performing, mission-driven team.
What You'll Do
- Review, prepare, and negotiate complex commercial contracts with a primary focus on sales support, plus procurement, professional services, AI, and other business partnerships.
- Develop and implement standardized contract templates and playbooks to streamline legal processes.
- Assist in managing product and data compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including GDPR, CCPA, and AI laws.
- Serve as the company’s principal legal advisor within India, advising on India-specific laws related to employment, business governance, and intellectual property.
- Support the General Counsel in advising decision makers on legal elements of business decisions.
What We're Looking For
- Licensed attorney in India with 5+ years of law firm or in-house experience.
- Previous in-house experience in tech/SaaS on the vendor/seller side, working directly with Sales teams.
- Track record drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and DPAs.
- Strong knowledge of data privacy and technology compliance issues.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a mid or late-stage startup company with enterprise-level customers.
- Experience assisting with the development of company compliance policies.
