SSV Labs is hiring a Core Blockchain Tech Lead to define the technical direction and architecture of our node-related initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the company’s CTO and researchers to design and build complex distributed systems that form the backbone of our decentralized staking infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Lead the technical direction and architecture of SSV and node-related initiatives.
- Drive the design and implementation of complex protocol-level solutions in a distributed environment.
- Own delivery end-to-end, including planning, execution, and hands-on technical decision-making.
- Work closely with engineers and researchers to translate research into production-ready systems.
- Review code, improve engineering standards, and guide best practices across the team.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability challenges in production systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in tooling, testing, CI/CD, and operational readiness.
- Maintain a high level of autonomy and ownership over your projects.
- Stay up to date and apply modern research in distributed systems, cryptography, blockchains, consensus, DeFi, and staking.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with building or contributing to blockchain nodes, especially Ethereum or similar.
- At least 5+ years of experience in Blockchain development.
- At least 3+ years of experience in Golang.
- Experience leading technically, such as owning architecture, mentoring, code reviews, and driving technical decisions.
- A high level of passion for technology, fast learning ability, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
- Experience or knowledge designing decentralized P2P software (e.g., libp2p).
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of staking protocols.
- Knowledge of L2, Bridges, or ZK proofs.
- A BSc degree in Computer Science, a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
