CorroHealth is hiring a Coordinator, Utilization Management to manage the authorization process from initial notification through determination and discharge. You will act as a key liaison to ensure timely information sharing and process completion between hospital staff and health payers.
What You'll Do
- Manage the authorization process end-to-end, from initial notification and information submission to final determination and discharge.
- Maintain detailed documentation in EMR systems, internal CorroHealth systems, and health payer portals.
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits.
- Act as a liaison between hospital staff and health payers to facilitate information sharing and ensure successful, timely process completion.
- Review timely filing guidelines related to the utilization management process.
- Track and follow up with payers on pending authorizations to ensure timely responses.
- Contact payers to elicit further information regarding status and decisions, removing processing hurdles.
- Identify and escalate issues that may result in delays or denials.
- Manage an assigned workload of accounts through timely follow-up and accurate record keeping.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in hospital-related billing, follow-up, healthcare settings, or the authorization field.
- Knowledge of and experience working with managed care contracts.
- Experience working with customer support or client issue resolution management.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Experience working in EMR systems.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office and web systems.
Nice to Have
- Associate degree in healthcare administration or an equivalent field.
- Experience with the Epic EMR system.
