Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete authorization workflow from initial notification through final determination and patient discharge.
- Ensure accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record, internal systems, and health insurance portals.
- Confirm patient eligibility and coverage details for services rendered.
- Serve as the main contact between hospital personnel and insurance payers to support timely information exchange and process resolution.
- Evaluate timely filing policies related to utilization management procedures.
- Monitor pending authorizations and follow up with payers to secure prompt responses.
- Reach out to insurance providers to obtain updates on case status, decisions, and resolve processing obstacles.
- Recognize potential issues that could lead to delays or claim denials and escalate appropriately.
- Handle assigned cases efficiently through consistent follow-up and precise record maintenance.
- Adhere to HIPAA standards and all applicable healthcare regulatory requirements.
