About the Role

Join Stanford Medicine Children's Health at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford as a Cook. Under the direction of the Chef/Supervisor/Manager, you will be responsible for the production of composed hot entrees as part of a cycle menu for patient, cafeteria, and catering service. You will also be involved in training new employees, contributing to our mission of providing world-class, family-centered care.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare complex hot entrees, side dishes, and baked goods as part of a rotating menu cycle.
  • Gather and combine ingredients following standardized recipes, using proper technique and commercial cooking equipment.
  • Adjust recipes for larger quantities and make changes when necessary.
  • Prepare food for distribution to catered events and patient feeding.
  • Coordinate cooking schedules to have food ready at service time and follow all HACCP procedures.
  • Keep records of food prepared, served, and left over, including recipe changes.
  • Check and record temperatures, and maintain HACCP logs for taste panels, refrigeration, cooking, holding, sanitation, and cooling.
  • Put food away in designated storage, clean all cooking and holding equipment, and maintain a sanitary work area.

What We're Looking For

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year of directly related work experience.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to the Chef/Supervisor/Manager.

Benefits & Compensation

  • This position is Benefits Eligible.
  • Compensation: $34.96 to $39.20 per hour.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position.
