Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Controller to play a critical role in strengthening and scaling financial operations for its fast-growing healthcare organization. This hands-on leadership position is perfect for an accounting professional who excels in managing close processes, enforcing internal controls, and implementing best practices. You’ll oversee a small team and collaborate closely with leadership to inform strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis.
What You'll Do
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and GAAP-compliant reporting.
- Oversee all core accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and streamlined workflows.
- Support strategic decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Coordinate tax filings and annual audits, ensuring clean audit outcomes through accurate documentation.
- Lead and mentor a small accounting team, including offshore operations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial systems and enhance operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience as an Assistant Controller.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficient in accounting systems and Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead remote teams and collaborate with executive leadership.
- Must be based in the Pacific Time Zone.
Nice to Have
- CPA certification.
- Experience in healthcare, multi-entity, or service-based industries.
