Kanopi Studios is hiring a Contract Senior Website Visual Designer (UX/UI) to lead the visual and user experience design for complex website projects. You will set clear design direction, create accessible and user-centered solutions, and present your work confidently to clients. This role is a key part of delivering high-quality, thoughtful digital experiences.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end visual and UX design for complex website projects, from discovery through launch, setting clear design direction.
- Create accessible, user-centered solutions including wireframes, user flows, UI designs, high-fidelity prototypes, and scalable design systems.
- Present and defend your work clearly and confidently, explaining your thinking in simple terms.
- Plan and facilitate discovery workshops, translating research into practical UX deliverables like sitemaps and user journeys.
- Collaborate closely with Content Strategists, Developers, and Project Managers to ensure cohesive, technically sound solutions.
- Represent Creative Services in client pitches and throughout the sales process, helping win new work.
- Contribute to Kanopi’s marketing and thought leadership through webinars and presentations.
What We're Looking For
- A strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful, user-centered UI/UX design for responsive websites, with clear examples of accessibility and visual craft.
- 5+ years of professional experience designing responsive web experiences.
- At least 3 years of experience in an agency environment.
- Confidence presenting and defending your work to a range of audiences.
- Fluency in Figma and modern design workflows.
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Google Workspace.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively within both agile and waterfall environments.
- Comfort working remotely within a distributed team.
- Working knowledge of front-end best practices and how designs translate into development.
Nice to Have
- Direct coding experience.
- Familiarity with analytics and research tools such as GA4, heatmapping platforms, and user testing tools.
- Experience working with mission-driven or nonprofit organizations.
