Gartner seeks a Contract Lifecycle Management & Technology Expert (Sr. Director Analyst) to join its Business & Technology Insights practice. You will act as an industry thought leader within the Corporate Assurance Practice, advising General Counsel, legal operations, and other leaders on contracts management, CLM technology, market trends, and best practices.
What You'll Do
- Create innovative, thought-provoking insights and best practices for legal and compliance leaders on contracts management process design, CLM technology selection, GenAI use cases, and integration into the legal tech stack.
- Remain ahead of market trends and developments related to CLM, intake and triage, and contract analytics by understanding the broader technology ecosystem and client best practices.
- Collaborate with peers across teams to understand client challenges, evaluate vendors, and establish shared thought leadership.
- Develop in-depth analysis to identify the root cause of client challenges and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward.
- Research, analyze and predict market trends and shifts to provide clients and vendors with actionable insights.
- Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice related to contracts management and CLM technologies via virtual or face-to-face interactions.
- Provide sales support and serve as the voice of the market to help research teams create content and drive client engagement.
- Provide high-quality and timely peer review on peers’ research content and represent Gartner insights, methodology and strategy credibly.
- Actively participate in innovation & ideation discussions and collaborate effectively with peers in the insights community.
- Identify research process improvements or develop new processes to enhance service delivery.
- Mentor and coach more junior team members.
- Be client-centric, actively seeking to help clients engage regularly with Gartner insights and interactions.
- Create and deliver high-value presentation materials for Gartner events, industry conferences, and client briefings.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience.
- Knowledge of and experience with contracts management processes, workflows, and CLM technologies within corporations.
- Knowledge of how contract processes and CLM technology investments align with broader legal department goals and workflows.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with the vendor market, functionalities, and capabilities related to CLM and related tools and service providers.
- Familiarity and experience with primary vendors in this space, as well as near-neighbor and emerging vendors.
- Working knowledge of how GenAI trends and developments are impacting the CLM market, capabilities, and ROI.
- Experience and interest in advising, presenting to, and writing for the most senior levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated executive presence; ability to immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills: ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
- Demonstrated excellence in research and writing ability.
- Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
- Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts simply and concisely.
- Subject matter expertise & comfort presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team.
- Learning agility and experience navigating highly matrixed environments.
- Ability to represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels.
