Directive is hiring a Content Marketing Manager (Remote Canada) - Future Opening

About the Role

At Directive Consulting, we’re looking for a Content Marketing Strategist (client-facing title: Content Strategist) to join our team in a future opening. This is a crucial remote role in Canada where you’ll own the day-to-day strategy and deliverables for Enterprise clients, requiring a deep understanding of how content marketing holistically impacts business goals.

What You'll Do

  • Create custom content strategies and implement best practices to hit client Key Performance Indicators, leveraging project phases, marketing goals, campaigns, and historical data.
  • Craft creative briefs and compelling content campaigns, focusing on ideation driven by competitor and audience insights.
  • Use data from Google Analytics, CRM, SEMRush, and Ahrefs to define and set client goals, requiring approval from an Associate Director.
  • Ensure strategy execution through project management, using Asana to delegate tasks to team members and clients to guarantee timely completion.
  • Partner closely with content writers and designers to deliver high-quality client campaigns on schedule.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, building relationships and proactively communicating timeline expectations, goal progress, and deliverables via Slack and bi-weekly meetings.
  • Communicate proactively with internal leadership about roadblocks, account growth opportunities, and changes on client accounts.
  • Report regularly to clients through bi-weekly meetings, monthly and quarterly reports, and two bi-annual business review presentations.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for client growth through upselling, cross-selling, and referrals.

What We're Looking For

  • A proven track record implementing SEO principles and content strategy: keyword research, on-page optimisation, and link building.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret website traffic and SEO metrics using tools like Google Analytics.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills, comfortable owning relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong familiarity with industry tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog/crawling tools.
  • Proven organizational, project, and time management skills.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and Content.
  • Must have agency experience.
  • Must have B2B tech and/or SaaS experience.

Team & Environment

You’ll work closely with an Associate Director (AsD) for strategy approval and guidance on roadblocks. You’ll also partner with Project Managers, content writers, and designers to execute client work, reporting directly to the Associate Director.
