Carl Zeiss is looking for a Computer Vision & AI Engineer (m/f/x) - mid/senior to join agile teams dedicated to advancing ZEISS Inspect software. You will be integral to software teams, enhancing products with new computer vision and AI capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Implement innovative AI-based workflows to advance optical and tactile measuring technologies.
- Take a significant role in developing training and applying deep learning methods within the software portfolio.
- Research current solutions, draft technical specifications, develop concepts, design, implement, and share knowledge with team members.
- Collaborate with a multi-national team of software, application, and hardware experts.
What We're Looking For
- A completed degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field, with a focus on 2D/3D image processing (Computer Vision, Machine Learning) or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development with Python and modern C++.
- Proven professional experience with common deep learning frameworks, with a preference for PyTorch.
- Strong communication skills, an end-user oriented mindset, team spirit and an action-oriented, self-reliant and organized approach to work.
- Very good proficiency in English language, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to undertake occasional business trips between our offices in Poland and Germany.
Nice to Have
- A focus on writing efficient and performant code, particularly with experience in ONNX and TensorRT deployments using parallel computing concepts.
- Experience in desktop application development.
- Experience in deploying containerized applications.
- Understanding of Clean Code guidelines and best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of metrology.
