Downer Group is looking for a Communications Engineer to provide critical engineering expertise in support of the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System (EDHFCS). You will ensure technical governance, documentation, and compliance for this key Defence capability project, based onsite at Campbell Park in Canberra.
What You'll Do
- Develop, manage, and maintain the JP9101 engineering documentation suite.
- Provide formal engineering advice across all relevant contracts.
- Maintain and update technical risks under delegated authority from the Chief Engineer.
- Collaborate with the JP9101 Engineering Team and broader project team across all disciplines.
- Review contract deliverables and support implementation of the EDHFCS solution.
What We're Looking For
- Chartered Professional Engineer status or eligibility through a recognised body (e.g., Engineers Australia).
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in Defence capability projects and familiarity with ODCS and the ASDEFCON suite.
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams and support professional development.
- Hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
