Civil-GROUP’s Mortenson division is hiring a Commissioning Engineer to manage commissioning processes in a construction environment. You’ll apply engineering principles to ensure systems operate as designed and build effective relationships with contractors and team members.
What You'll Do
- Review owner project requirements and support scope reviews
- Develop commissioning specifications, plans, checklists, and tests for basic systems
- Perform field visits and observe commissioning inspections and tests
- Build relationships with contractors and assist in resolving commissioning issues observed during testing
- Write issue descriptions, field reports, and final reports
- Create Systems Manuals
- Support planning and execution of system tests, including NETA, SCADA, controls, and operations verification for mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems
- Perform all other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience
- Minimum four years of construction management or commissioning experience
- Solid understanding of commissioning processes, construction documents, and their relationship to QA/QC and project management
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and data-based commissioning tools
- Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills
Nice to Have
- Experience preferably with an MEP Contractor or Commissioning firm
