Backroom Offshoring Inc. is hiring a Commercial Underwriter specializing in Construction Insurance and Contractors All Risks (CAR). In this role, you will underwrite construction-related commercial risks and manage broker relationships for international insurance broker clients, providing a crucial service from South Africa.

What You'll Do

Underwrite construction-related commercial risks, including CAR, Plant & Equipment, and related Liability
Manage new business, renewals, and mid-term changes with accuracy and speed
Build strong working relationships with brokers, clients, and insurers
Assess portfolios, analyze risks, and make solid underwriting decisions
Handle invoicing, documentation, and refund processing efficiently
Contribute to improving processes and supporting overall team performance
Manage warranties for house builders

What We're Looking For

3+ years’ experience in Commercial Underwriting
Solid construction/CAR exposure is essential
Based in South Africa
Able to work remotely and time-shift to align with UK broker hours
Excellent spoken and written English
Confident and professional – a short video intro will be required
A solid home office setup: reliable internet and a quiet, professional space
Matric essential
